|About the Book|
I feel weird about this book because on one hand, I read it as a kid and loved it, so theres a lot of nostalgia- on the other hand, White Girl Saves the World and Gets In Touch With her ~Inner Native~ kind of makes it hard to deal with. I like the characters, but sometimes the way the themes are handled leaves a lot to be desired. Whats weird is that the protagonist goes from fetishizing Native American culture to being more mature about it, but the narration doesnt. Nice try, I guess. Still good for a young white audience, especially those who want to grow up to be headdress wearing hipsters.
